Team Somerset has been established to develop and deliver AIM (Aspiration, Inspiration and Motivation) for Success - Somerset’s Legacy Strategy arising from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Team Somerset involves “People and organisations working together to deliver lasting benefits to Somerset from 2012 and other sporting activities. The benefits are across 6 areas: Business development, Tourism, Sporting opportunity, Cultural celebration, Learning and Skills and Community engagement.
With representatives from local authorities, the Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership and other organisations representing culture, health, education and business in Somerset, the group aims to build its activities over the coming years to help achieve a legacy for the area that is inspired by London 2012.

About Team South West
Team South West is funded by the South West of England Regional Development Agency and Sport England South West and is based in Exeter. It has been developed to ensure South West England secures a lasting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
The director Guy Lavender is an advocate for the 2012 Games at all levels across South West England and leads Team South West in its mission to “maximise the business, sporting, cultural and social opportunities of London 2012 to deliver a lasting and discernible legacy from the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games across the South West”.
